Hannah, we use lots of tools and instruments to analyze the evidence. Microscopes are used for all sorts of testing because they allow us to look at small items we wouldn't be able to see with the naked eye. We also use cameras to take digital images and then use computers to help enhance the images so we can see things better.

Jayda, my favorite holiday is Halloween because I love to dress up in costumes. Geona, this year I went to several different Halloween parties, so I had a lot of different costumes: I was Aurora from Sleeping Beauty and Ariel from The Little Mermaid; Jo March from Little Women; and a card girl from the Syfy version of Alice in Wonderland.

N'Dia, I do not have any siblings -- I'm an only child (and happy to be one).

Roshonie, my favorite science experiments involve bloodstain pattern analysis. We sometimes have to do experiments using pig's blood to try to determine how a particular bloodstain pattern could have been created, so we get to try different ways of hitting or splashing the blood -- it's almost like playing with paint because of the pretty designs we sometimes create!

Katarina, I don't have a big dream that I'd like to accomplish before I die because I feel like I live my dreams every day. Therefore, I'd like to continue to help solve crimes and bring guilty people to justice (or help innocent people go free) as well as perform in more operas and musicals. Also, I love to travel, and my favorite places to visit are Britain and New Zealand, so I'd like to visit those places again.

If anyone has additional questions about forensic science or what I do at the crime lab, feel free to email me at cwillis@crimelab.sccgov.org
